Mountain Crest Schools Owerri holds maiden sports fiesta and exhibition

On 11th of April, 2017, Mountain Crest Schools located at No. 3 Eugene Opara Crescent, Opp. Index Petrol station, Area H, New Owerri, Imo state, held her maiden sports fiesta. The event which took place at Orient TV premises along Achike Udenwa avenue, Concorde boulevard.
The sports fiesta lived up to its name as was more than just a usual inter house sports competition. The students and pupils competed in various track and field events including sack race and egg race which revealed the time and effort the Executive Director Deaconess Akudo Chike Okafor had invested in the children.
The event was Carnival of sorts, graced by who is who in Sports world, business circle and the political class. It was chaired by none other than the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo
The special guest of the occasion was of cause, the legendary Kanu Nwankwo who towered above every other person present in many other ways than height.
The sports fiesta which anchored by a Mc Bossman and a mobile sports encyclopaedia Solo Mourinho also featured a novelty football match between parents and staff of the school which ended goalless and was decided through penalty shootouts in favour of the parents, which Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor scored the first goal for the parents.
It also witnessed exhibition of arts and craft works by the students pupils.
Among other dignitaries that graced the wonderful occasion include the former commissioner for youths and sports and currently the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on youths, Hon. Kenneth Emelu, the Director General of Imo Broadcasting Corporation, Pastor Ralph Afoaku, wife of the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Lolo Ijeoma Ozurigbo, former Liason officer to the Imo State Government on Lagos, Mrs Lisa Asomugha, Pastor Kasie Ugo, Mr. Ogbonnaya Osondu Christopher and a host of others.
It was indeed a soccer Fiesta extraordinary! Mountain Crest remains the pace setter in the South East. It was a great football game too. Although I'm nursing an ankle sprain being treated by a co-parent Consultant Surgeon Chikwendu... Thank you Francis for the yore man's job of powerful and excellent reportage.
