IMSU Alumni honours Hon. Chike Okafor, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu and Hon. Ik Ogbonna among others
Like every other evergreen day in the annals of history, Saturday 19th September, 2015 will remain a touchstone in the living record of human memories.
It was a day set aside by the Alumni Association of the Imo State University, Owerri to Honour her illustrious sons, who occupy various political offices, both appointed and elected, at the federal and state levels.
After a critical search, the list of Honourees was drawn as follows: Hon. Deacon Chike John Okafor (Former Commissioner for Finance, Imo state and currently the Member representing Okigwe South federal constituency in the House of Representatives), Mr. Amby Uneze (Executive Director, Asset Management Comapny of Nigeria, AMCON), Ugwumba Uche Nwosu (Immediate past commissioner for Lands, Survey and Urban Development, Imo state and currently, the Chief of Staff to the Imo state Governor), Hon. Henry Uzoma Ezediaro (Member representing Oguta state constiuency in the Imo state House of Assembly) and Hon. Ik Ogbonna (Immediate past Principal officer to the Governor on Social Media and currently, Special Assistant to the Imo state Governor on ICT).
The occasion turned out to be somewhat of a Home-coming to many Imo Stars, as graduates of Imo state University, owerri are addressed.
Among the long the list of roll call include: The Secretary to the Imo State Governor, Chief , The Deputy Speaker of Imo state House of Assembly, Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo and a host of other law makers, Former Commissioner for Youths and sports and distinguished Professor of Laws who was Chairman of the Occasion, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Imo state University, Owerri, Prof. Mrs. Victoria Adaobi-Obasi, the first President of Imo State University Students Union Government (S.U.G), founder of GOTNI, and a world renowned Certified Public Speaker (CSP), Mr. Linus Okorie, National President of IMSUAA, Mr. Chris Anyanwu, BOT Chairman, Prince Chinedu Obi, and a host of other notable Imo stars and political leaders as well as captains of industries.
